Our Agronomists keep informed of the latest trial data and can give you the specific recommendations suited to your farming systems.
Barley
There have been some large increases in yield potential with the development of new Barley varieties. There have also been some varieties developed for their tolerance to limiting factors such as disease and pH. Be sure to contact us for the best advice!
Wheat
The number of wheat varieties is too numerous to list, but all of them have been developed with specific growing environments and end uses in mind. For any advice you require, don’t hesitate to contact our agronomy team!
Pasture Seed
Getting the most out of your pastures is important to the financial success in a “mixed farming” operation. The quickest and most cost-effective way to bring a cropping paddock out of rotation is to make sure you reseed with germination tested seed at the right rates. Treat it like another crop!! Contact one our agronomists to plan your requirements.
Seed Germination Tests
Despite a large proportion of farmers skipping this procedure, it is one of the most critical tests needed to ensure the right numbers of plants per square metre are established! Not enough time?!! Just grab a sample of your graded seed and leave it with us to test for a minimal fee. You won’t regret it!!
Legumes
The never ending search for a medium-high yielding alternative to Lupins in the colder and wetter climate of the southwest of WA continues. From vetches to faba beans we’ve got you covered!
Summer Crops
Making the most use out of the available moisture is every farmers goal. The trend for more summer rain allows for some opportunistic planting of summer crops to provide forage for livestock. The range of maize, sorghum, long season canola varieties and many more makes the choice confusing and each case needs to be individually tailored to goals and expectations. Contact Kojonup Agricultural Supplies and we will help with the plan.
